The cast includes openly gay comedian Julian Clary, lesbian Sue Perkins, black actress Susan Wokoma, alongside straight white comedians Lucy Beaumont and winner Sam Campbell, providing incidental diversity that feels organic to selecting established UK comedians rather than any DEI mandate or identity-driven casting. Tasks revolve around physical comedy like putting ducks in lakes, building towers, feeding clowns cards, and team mischief-making, containing zero social justice themes, identity exploration, pronoun usage, or critiques of traditional norms.

No creator interviews emphasize activism or inclusion goals; discussions center on contestant dynamics and show growth. Reception is overwhelmingly positive with fans praising the humor and lack of preachiness, and zero notable backlash accusing it of wokeness, forced diversity, or political agendas. This season exemplifies unadulterated entertainment prioritizing laughs over messaging.
