The sole brush with progressive themes occurs in 'The Cissy,' where Cartman mockingly declares himself 'transginger' to invade the girls' bathroom, lampooning early transgender bathroom debates in a crude, exploitative manner typical of the show's equal-opportunity offense style. This incidental element does not drive the narrative, character arcs, or emotional core, which remain focused on absurd humor and town antics without promoting identity politics, DEI, or social justice activism.

No race/gender-swapping in casting, no overt critiques of traditional norms from a progressive lens, no creator-stated intent to advance woke agendas—Trey Parker and Matt Stone use the show to roast societal absurdities across the spectrum. Reception highlights the season's entertainment value without notable backlash labeling it 'woke'; instead, it's remembered fondly for unfiltered comedy before later PC arcs. The near-total absence of embedded progressive ideology allows pure satirical entertainment to shine, free from ideological intrusions.
