Season 2 explicitly continues this narrative, depicting the protagonists' constant backsliding into 'old habits' while facing modern parenting, workplace equality, open relationships, and female dominance, often framing traditional male behaviors as outdated or problematic. Progressive ideological elements dominate through overt critiques of machismo, toxic masculinity, and male privilege as foundational conflicts, with the men frequently portrayed as needing to apologize or adapt to feminist shifts.

Audience reactions include backlash labeling season 2 as turning the male leads into humiliated clowns dominated by women and pushing unnecessary guilt. Minor elements like a character feigning trans identity for plot convenience add to the identity-focused humor, but the core remains the activist-framed gender re-education. This ideology is not incidental but the driving engine of storytelling, casting choices (standard ensemble with female partners highlighting contrasts), and thematic messaging.
