No race- or gender-swapping of established characters occurs, and the cast features standard horror archetypes without DEI mandates or intersectional additions. Director Damien Leone has repeatedly stated in interviews and posts that the franchise is apolitical entertainment focused on sadistic kills and effects, explicitly rejecting political framing.

Themes revolve around supernatural evil and survival rather than critiques of patriarchy, systemic oppression, or identity politics. Reception highlights audience walkouts from graphic violence and praise for old-school splatter, with no controversies tied to progressive messaging; instead, Leone faced backlash for affirming the films avoid politics. The premise collapses without the gore-driven horror plot, showing zero centrality of activist elements.
