Marvel's Spider-Man 2 centers its main story on Peter Parker and Miles Morales battling villains with classic themes of responsibility and growth, while side content and the open world include multiple elements of progressive representation. This balanced approach earns a moderate 6/10 score.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 centers on a traditional superhero narrative of Peter Parker and Miles Morales battling Kraven the Hunter, the symbiote (bonding with Harry Osborn to become Venom), and the Lizard, with themes of friendship, responsibility, and personal growth.
The two playable Spider-Men are established in the Insomniac franchise—Miles as an original addition rather than a swap—and their relationships remain heterosexual (Peter with MJ Watson; Miles with deaf street artist Hailey Cooper). However, progressive elements appear prominently in the world and side content: Black Cat is explicitly confirmed bisexual with a girlfriend in Paris during a Miles mission, a side quest involves helping a gay student ask his boyfriend to homecoming, multiple pride flags (including trans, bi, gay, ace, pan, and lesbian) decorate the open world, and a non-binary scientist appears at the Emily-May Foundation. These inclusions, alongside a diverse NYC population and strong accessibility features, reflect intentional representation.
Methodology: Each score synthesizes audience discourse, critic and aggregator reception, and press coverage — weighed against the work itself, not any single source.
The game shows intentional inclusion of diverse representation in the world design, but no specific creator statements, studio DEI initiatives, or ESG-driven marketing are detailed in the available analysis.

Even if it wasn't woke, the game is still slop with an ugly MJ, Peter constantly needing to be saved by Miles, etc.
They put more emphasis on Miles rether then Peter. MJ looks like a karen and she's somehow maneged to dodge an army of Symbiotes by her own. One of the side mission made you play as the deaf girl, which was annoying. Most of the side mission were about Miles's community and it's history. Some of npc where a hijab and there is a mission about helping a gay couple.
This is pure wokeslop they Destroyed EVERYTHING FOR THEIR AGENDA
