Methodology: Each score synthesizes audience discourse, critic and aggregator reception, and press coverage — weighed against the work itself, not any single source.
Creator intent aligns strictly with pure survival horror entertainment, with no emphasis on progressive credentials or activism in marketing or development.

Amazing movie, as a die-hard RE fan i enjoyed it a lot
Very good movie. No woke shit
A couple brief scenes where it seems pretty woke, but it undoes itself quickly.
It is not Resident Evil at all — more like a gore-comedy aimed at teenagers. The main character acts more like a streamer instead a RE Hero. And is yelling all the time like a little girl (don't know why). The only one tough character is, of course, a Black woman.
This is a completely invalid take for this site. The change in lore from the video games has nothing to do with wokeness and rating it a 9/10 for it. While I agree that they always cast a black woman as the cop/detective, I’d like to add that the majority of the cast was white and !!!SPOILER AHEAD!!! she died very early which is a common trend with black characters. I suggest you reevaluate your score good sir. It’s a 2 at best.
