The 14 returning contestants from the 2007 season compete through physical and comedic tasks focused solely on elimination drama and genre spoofs, with no narrative attention given to identity, systemic issues, or social justice themes. This 2009 production keeps its content limited to entertainment-driven competition without any identity-politics framing. Casting relies exclusively on the original characters carried over from the prior season, featuring no race, gender, or sexuality swaps of any kind.

The show's approach treats any background elements as incidental to the parody format rather than vehicles for messaging, resulting in a straightforward satire that prioritizes comedic challenges over ideological content. This keeps the series free of progressive intrusions and maintains its focus on lighthearted competition.
