The story revolves around Sorata Kanda caring for the socially inept genius artist Mashiro Shiina, alongside a romance triangle, themes of talent versus hard work, friendship, and personal growth, all delivered through slice-of-life comedy and drama without any progressive ideological overlay. There are no instances of race-swapping, gender-swapping, forced diversity, LGBTQ+ representation as a focal point, critiques of traditional norms, systemic oppression narratives, or identity politics.

Casting is authentically Japanese matching the setting, with no DEI influences evident. Creator Hajime Kamoshida shows no activist intent in available discussions.

Audience reception focuses on emotional impact of the romance and ending debates, with zero backlash related to 'woke' elements, political messaging, or social justice. This is classic anime storytelling prioritizing entertainment and character dynamics over contemporary activism, making it a refreshing example of neutral, engaging media free from ideological intrusions.
