The lead character is portrayed as a tough, hyper-masculine ex-gangster with no gender or identity swaps of any kind. The narrative follows his gradual personal change through interactions with students and teachers, built around slapstick humor and the cultural clash between his rough 1990s criminal background and modern school life. This setup delivers a straightforward redemption arc and era-based comedy without any DEI casting mandates, LGBTQ+ representation, feminist framing, or social justice themes across all seasons including season 4. The show maintains a focus on personal transformation and generational contrasts rather than identity politics, systemic oppression narratives, or critiques of traditional norms, resulting in entertainment that stays rooted in its original Russian comedy conventions.
