Casting features a diverse ensemble typical of modern UK productions, including Black actor Paapa Essiedu as politician Isaac Turner, South Asian Indira Varma as Khadija Khan, and Asian Tessa Wong as DC Chloe Tan, alongside white leads like Holliday Grainger; this reflects organic representation in London-based intelligence and police settings rather than forced DEI quotas or identity-focused arcs. No evidence of race/gender-swapping, LGBTQ+ centrality, systemic oppression narratives, or critiques of traditional norms; themes prioritize surveillance ethics and disinformation over social justice activism.

Creator Ben Chanan emphasizes timely tech fears like fake news, with no interviews revealing activist intent. Reception focuses on gripping suspense and implausibility complaints, lacking 'woke' backlash or 'go woke go broke' sentiment, allowing pure entertainment without ideological intrusions.
