This approach turns character arcs into vehicles for identity messaging in a children's program, where the thematic weight of these elements disrupts the original action-comedy premise and prioritizes ideological signaling over straightforward entertainment. Specific episodes illustrate the pattern: Enid and Red Action share an on-screen kiss in "Red Action 3: Grudgement Day," with their relationship later shown as a committed couple operating a dojo. The finale "Thank You for Watching the Show" features a same-sex wedding between Joff and Army, while Lord Boxman and Professor Venomous form a romantic partnership.

A minor character Gregg receives non-binary confirmation. These choices, amplified by the show's young audience, function as deliberate intrusions that shift focus from heroic adventures to identity confirmation, drawing criticism for subordinating story coherence to progressive messaging.
