The premise relies on classic tropes of family bonding, secret-keeping, and pet-related antics without any embedding of progressive ideological elements. Casting features a typical mix of young actors in step-sibling roles with no race- or gender-swapping of established characters, no prominent LGBTQ+ representation, and no themes addressing systemic oppression, identity politics, or critiques of traditional norms.

Avery is portrayed as a hardworking, rule-following, ambitious student—traits that align with conventional character development rather than activist framing. No creator statements indicate activist intent, and audience or critical discussions focus on the show's silliness or entertainment value rather than any messaging. As children's media, the complete absence of such elements keeps the score at the lowest level.
