Detailed Analysis
Clevatess is a Japanese dark fantasy anime following the beast lord Clevatess, who adopts an orphaned royal infant named Luna and revives the slain hero Alicia Glenfall as a servant to study humanity.
The story follows their journey through bandit camps, wizard attacks, wars, magic academies, doppelgangers, and revelations about flawed hero legends and ancient conflicts. Core themes include freedom, power, social hierarchy, man-versus-beast struggles, and found family bonds formed through adversity.
These elements draw on classic fantasy storytelling tropes with no activist framing, DEI mandates, or progressive messaging in the premise or production. The show's overall woke score of 2/10 stems from its consistent focus on traditional narrative elements across the reviewed seasons.
Methodology: Each score synthesizes audience discourse, critic and aggregator reception, and press coverage — weighed against the work itself, not any single source.
