The narrative follows classic romance tropes of forbidden love, self-assertion, and overcoming parental pressure without any framing around systemic oppression, identity politics, or critiques of traditional norms. Casting features Spanish actors Clara Galle as Raquel and Julio Peña as Ares with an entirely European/Spanish ensemble that matches the Barcelona setting and source material; no race- or gender-swapping of established characters occurs.

A single incidental mention of a bisexual high-school student appears in supporting material but plays no role in the plot, character arcs, or themes. Reception focuses on the film’s clichéd execution, explicit content, and formulaic pacing rather than any activist messaging, with no creator statements emphasizing inclusion mandates or social justice. Minor background diversity and one passing LGBTQ reference remain organic and non-central, keeping the score low.
