Gooze, portrayed as a widowed stepfather employed at the corrupt firm, gains powers from toxic waste and turns them against the corporation's greed, preserving the original 1980s Troma satire's focus on individual resistance to industrial harm rather than layering on contemporary identity frameworks. This thematic core remains foundational to the premise and aligns directly with the source material's longstanding satirical bent. Casting choices contribute moderately to the score through the deliberate selection of Peter Dinklage, an actor with dwarfism, for the lead role of the janitor-turned-mutant, presented as a representational decision.

The supporting cast features incidental diversity without foregrounding identity politics, and the story emphasizes positive individual activism over group-based ideological messaging. These elements integrate into the existing premise without source-character alterations or heavy activist overlays, keeping the overall progressive content contained and secondary to the environmental satire.
