Star Wars Outlaws: Low 3/10 wokeness—pure scoundrel heists and galactic adventure with zero identity politics or lectures, just classic Star Wars fun despite bugs.
Star Wars Outlaws features a female Latina protagonist, Kay Vess, whose in-game model drew pre-release backlash for appearing 'ugly' and de-feminized compared to earlier trailers, with accusations of DEI-driven redesigns to avoid traditional attractiveness.
Ubisoft and developers dismissed this as 'bad faith' toxicity against women and minorities, while the lead actress highlighted industry misogyny. Diverse casting aligns with modern Ubisoft's explicit DEI commitments to inclusive teams, but no confirmed involvement from firms like Sweet Baby Inc. Background elements include reports of prominent LGBTQ+ NPCs discussing same-sex marriage, fitting incidental diversity rather than plot drivers.
The core story is a traditional open-world scoundrel adventure focused on heists, syndicates, and galactic exploration between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, with no central identity politics, systemic oppression narratives, or lectures on social justice. Reception emphasized technical bugs, repetitive gameplay, and empty worlds over ideological content, with mixed Steam reviews and critic scores around 75-78, though user scores dipped amid review bombing tied partly to perceived wokeness. The game's underperformance stems more from execution flaws than progressive embedding, allowing it to deliver entertaining Star Wars escapism without heavy ideological intrusion.
Methodology: Each score synthesizes audience discourse, critic and aggregator reception, and press coverage — weighed against the work itself, not any single source.

Not sure how this has a based rating. Games full of other women that constantly hit on the main character which is a woman. The men in the game are usually bad guys when you come across them. Giving it an 8 because well it's woke and calling it based is a joke.
