Fallout: New Vegas earns a low 3/10 woke score – subtle, optional LGBTQ+ elements blend into its post-apoc world without lectures, delivering pure choice-driven fun, satire, and agency over politics.
Fallout: New Vegas features minor incidental progressive elements that do not drive the narrative or premise, such as optional companion characters with LGBTQ+ identities like Arcade Gannon (gay Enclave defector) and Veronica (implied lesbian Brotherhood scribe), whose personal stories touch on identity in a subtle, organic way fitting the post-apocalyptic setting without lectures or centrality.
Player character customization allows any gender or race from the start, standard for RPGs of the era, with no forced pronoun systems, they/them normalization, or identity exploration as core conflict. Faction politics satirize power structures (NCR imperialism, Legion fascism, House technocracy, anarchy) through player choice, presenting balanced ideologies without pushing contemporary social justice activism, DEI mandates, systemic oppression narratives, or critiques of traditional norms.
No evidence of developer activism, Sweet Baby Inc. involvement, localization censorship for diversity, or race/gender-swapping; Obsidian focused on branching storytelling and entertainment. Reception is overwhelmingly positive across critics (Metacritic 84) and audiences, with complaints limited to technical bugs, no 'woke' backlash or score gaps tied to ideology. This traditional, choice-driven RPG prioritizes fun, satire, and agency over any ideological embedding.
Methodology: Each score synthesizes audience discourse, critic and aggregator reception, and press coverage — weighed against the work itself, not any single source.

really not a woke game, probably because it was made by sane people and in 2010
The plot of the DLC is shaped by a lesbian breakup. although its not as "In your face" as woke slop like Eldenring it still something that a true Gamer will be forced to see when trying to figure out the whole story.
