Crimson Desert: 1/10 wokeness – pure fantasy mercenary adventure with zero politics, DEI, or identity agendas, delivering gritty action, alliances, and story without modern intrusions.
Crimson Desert exhibits virtually no progressive ideological influence, delivering a traditional fantasy action-adventure centered on male protagonist Kliff, a Greymane mercenary, as he rebuilds his faction amid war, mythical threats, and political power struggles in the continent of Pywel.
The narrative emphasizes survival, growth, resilience, alliances, and gritty exploration without any social justice themes, identity politics, systemic oppression tied to contemporary identities, or critiques of traditional norms. Playable characters include Kliff (male swordfighter) and secondary figures like Damiane (female) and Oongka, with designs and roles feeling organic to the mercenary fantasy setting rather than forced diversity statements.
No character creator, no pronoun options, no LGBTQ+ representation, and no developer activism or DEI consultancy involvement from Pearl Abyss, a Korean studio. A single fringe Steam review alleges minor 'woke' touches like conservative female armor, a one-off 'they/them' localization slip for Kliff, and a nagging wife side quest, but these are superficial, non-central, and contradicted by the DEI-free assessment from specialized trackers.
Reception focuses on gameplay flaws (controls, pacing) rather than ideology, with critics at 78/81 and users similarly unconcerned by politics, praising the absence of forced representation. This pure entertainment focus without political intrusions makes it a refreshing escape into unadulterated fantasy adventure.
Methodology: Each score synthesizes audience discourse, critic and aggregator reception, and press coverage — weighed against the work itself, not any single source.

Finally 11/10 game. Engaging gameplay. Huge open world that doesn't feel empty. The game doesn't try or even imply any modern agendas. The only weakness is the main quest line and the main character who doesn't speak much. But that's not the criteria for my rating here and developers already fixed a lot of weak spots.
